As For MenoLogs…

  • MenoLogs is a well-being advocacy venture devoted to promoting awareness of the physical and emotional challenges tied to perimenopause & menopause.

We work tirelessly to validate the struggle in this stage of life and oppose the tradition that had ignored its impact and forced women to walk the journey in silence and alone.

  • We are a space committed in providing factual content to guide women in understanding and successfully engaging medical professionals in their health care before, during and post-menopause.

We also provide strategies focused on promoting the practice of healthy habits.

  • We Promise: To build a community of educated and empathetic women committed to self-care amidst years of menopausal symptoms.

We’ll Try: To provide moments of reflection, amusing perspectives and connection because someone out there is going through the same difficulties as you.

Thank you for the opportunity of allowing us to create and share this safe space with you.

    Let's talk about it!

HOW WE ENDED UP HERE

MenoLogs is the result of painful, lasting spirals of frustration that emerged with my perimenopause symptoms. In my case, it became a daily struggle with sudden joint discomfort, weight gain, the inability to lose it, and the lamentable erosion of my self-appreciation. In brief, an incomprehensible loop of unresolved physiological ailments and charged emotions I couldn’t fix.

Flat-out, my days became confined to the unceasing grievance of being unable to function optimally which came along with body image struggles, and isolation. Not talking about it turned into my go-to response as I felt embarrassed to be open about hating the transformation that my body and my mindset were going through.

But when I finally dared to inquire, every medical professional who saw me disregarded my tribulations with the “you are just getting old” response meant to suffice the ill fortune. And with no direction or information, I was sent home obliged to trivially align my abundance of troubles with aging. The lack of support ended up feeding my curiosity about perimenopause which resulted in shaping my readiness when the time came to face the inevitable menopause.

Learning that menopause is tied to a broad list of serious health conditions I was never made aware of, turned into a fiery motivation to dig deeper. And in the process, I ended up creating this space with the commitment to share with all of you everything I find. Because having platinum hair should never be a decree to accept this physiologically impactful occurrence without awareness and understanding.

And even though becoming educated women in the wonders of menopause will never change what we are going through, it does enable us to keep tabs on our yearly physicals and provoke conversations with our doctors that contribute to making informed decisions for the best quality of life possible.

I am a certified wellness coach, menopause educator, and a former certified fitness instructor. My humble expectation is that this effort delivers some clarity to every single one of us searching for a better understanding of the disheartening menopausal destination.

Thank you for being here! All the love,

-bel
